Office Volunteer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Office volunteers support the mission of Spartanburg Shares by directly assisting clients with medical equipment loan/return process.

QUALIFICATIONS

Volunteers should have the following skills, experience and abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of computer and internet usage

  • Unrestricted mobility

  • Good phone/verbal skills

  • The ability to work cooperatively with other volunteers

  • Pleasant manner, patience and dependability

ACCOUNTABILITY

Volunteers report directly to the Volunteer Coordinator.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open Spartanburg Shares at start of shift if applicable

  • Secure the Spartanburg Shares office at the end of service hours if applicable

  • Electronically complete loan/return transaction (See Computerized Loan/Return Process Manual)

  • Answer phone

  • Work collaboratively with workroom volunteers to assist clients completion of loan and return transactions in a timely manner

  • Keep office area tidy; empty garbage weekly or as needed

  • Keep volunteer coordinator updated on any pertinent information via email/phone

  • Keep accurate record of personal volunteer time in volunteer log

  • Attend volunteer meetings and training when requested
